Clinical Supervision For Therapists

Clinical Supervision in Farnham, Surrey

Reflective, Integrative and Trauma-Informed Supervision for Therapists

Supervision should be more than oversight.

It should be a thoughtful, containing space where you can reflect deeply on your work, develop clinical clarity and feel supported in the emotional impact of being a therapist.

I offer clinical supervision in Farnham and online for counsellors, psychotherapists and trainees working with adults, couples and young people.

With nearly 20 years’ experience in clinical practice, I bring steadiness, depth and warmth to the supervisory relationship.

My Approach to Supervision

My supervision style is relational, reflective and grounded in clinical experience.

Supervisees often describe me as:

  • Calm and containing
  • Warm but clear
  • Gently challenging when needed
  • Clinically thorough without being overwhelming

I am trained in:

  • Person-Centred Therapy
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Transactional Analysis (TA)
  • Existential Therapy
Supervision

My clinical work has increasingly specialised in trauma-informed therapy, and this lens naturally informs how I think in supervision.

This means we consider not only symptoms and interventions, but:

  • Attachment patterns
  • Nervous system regulation
  • Developmental trauma
  • Shame dynamics
  • Relational processes
  • Transference and countertransference

Supervision becomes a space where formulation deepens and complexity feels manageable.

Trauma-Informed Supervision

Many therapists are now working with trauma presentations, even if that is not their explicit niche.

Clients may present with:

  • Anxiety and hypervigilance
  • Dissociation or shutdown
  • Relational instability
  • Shame and negative core beliefs
  • Complex developmental histories

In supervision, we explore how trauma may be shaping the therapeutic relationship, pacing, boundaries and risk.

You do not need to be a trauma specialist to benefit from a trauma-informed lens — it simply strengthens your confidence and containment.

Supporting You as a Practitioner

Supervision is also about you.

We may explore:

  • Imposter feelings or self-doubt
  • Emotional fatigue or vicarious trauma
  • Ethical dilemmas
  • Risk and safeguarding
  • Working with high-conflict couples
  • Managing complexity in private practice

Many supervisees are conscientious, thoughtful therapists who hold themselves to high standards. Supervision can help you think clearly without becoming self-critical.
